Historic Homes / Properties

The Guide to Historic Architecture in Fresno is a comprehensive and useful starting place for anyone interested in the subject. Of special interest to individuals documenting properties is its page on Historic Residence Research Resources. The Guide features listings, photographs and supporting data for many local Register properties; the Room maintains complete listings for these on file, including applications and supporting documents / photographs.

For properties located within Fresno County, the two primary sources of information are DARM Development and REsource Management and the Fresno County Assessor/Recorder's Office.

The Heritage Center's "Maps" page has information on a variety of resources valuable to urban and rural property researchers.

Bureau of Land Management features a searchable index of Fresno County federal land patents.

The Fresno County Historic Landmarks and Records Commission's web site contains basic information about the Commission, but no data on its own Register. To find out if a property is listed on the Register, contact 488-3185.
