Non-Fresno County Residents
Even if you do not live in Fresno County, you can still get a library card! If your address does not fall within our County Lines, you still might qualify for a Non-Resident Library Card. Sign up for your FREE library card at any library location.
These cards can access all physical materials (books, CDs, DVDs, videogames, and books on CD for example), check out chrome books and laptops at certain branches, use our CloudLibrary for eBooks and eAudio Books, and use our computers in any of our library locations. Non-resident library cards cannot access some of Fresno's online resources or it's digital materials through Libby/Overdrive. For a complete list of what each library can do, visit our get a card page.
Your card can be used at any library location in Fresno County, as well as the 10 member libraries of the San Joaquin Valley Library System.
When you sign up, you need to show a current photo ID. Acceptable forms of ID include:
- California Driver's License
- California Identification Card
- Immigration Photo
- Current Passport
- Student Identification Card
- Parole Identification Card
- Other types of current, government-issued identification with a photo
You will also be asked to provide your Permanent Address.

When you get a card, you will be asked to choose a four-digit PIN which stands for Personal Identification Number. You need this PIN to request materials online or access your library account online and by phone.
