Solar Canopies Coming to Woodward Park Regional Library Parking Lot
New Solar Panels for the Woodward Park Library
The Fresno County Public Library is excited to announce that solar canopies are being installed at the Woodward Park Regional Library, providing shaded parking for our patrons while also achieving significant long-term cost savings.
Beginning December 22, 2025, temporary fencing will be installed in the parking lot, blocking off areas where solar canopies will be installed. Construction is expected to commence shortly after and is estimated to be completed by March 2026.
Library Services
At this time, we do not anticipate any significant changes to library services. Our hours of operation will remain the same, both entrances will be accessible, and our quiet and study rooms will continue to be available for use.
Core Library services available at the Woodward Park Regional Library:
- Checking out and returning materials.
- Attending programs and events.
- Picking up and placing holds.
- Using public computers and printing services.
- Accessing study rooms and the quiet reading room.
- Receiving assistance from Library staff.
Funding and Administration
This project is part of a larger countywide effort to expand renewable energy resources at public facilities. The solar canopies and installation costs are funded by the County of Fresno general fund and administered by the County of Fresno General Services Department.
The Fresno County Public Library thanks the County of Fresno and General Services for their support. This initiative will help reduce rising utility costs and allow more voter approved Measure B funds to be directed toward library services.
