Adult Summer Reading 2012

Don't let kids have all the fun this summer. Rediscover your library during the Fresno County Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program. Complete one or more of the activities in the DreamScape Passport and you will be eligible to win prizes including an eReader! Read. Listen. Attend. Text. Follow Us. There’s a host of ways to explore new destinations and interests and make summer reading a family event.

iconHow to Participate

The program begins Saturday, June 16, and ends Sunday, July 22.  Sign up at any Library Location or participate online at our DreamScape Digital Branch.

Sign up for the program and receive a DreamScape Passport. For each Passport activity you complete, fill out an entry form to be entered into the prize drawings. All entry forms must be submitted by July 22, in order to be eligible for the prize drawings. You must be 18 or older and live within the Library’s service area to participate.

iconPrize Drawings

For every DreamScape Passport entry form submitted, you will be entered into the weekly prize drawings as well as the Grand Prize drawing. Seven winners will be selected each week – one from each Branch Cluster. Winners will receive that week’s prize as noted below.

Week 1 – A $5 coupon redeemable at the Friends of the Library Bookstore located next door to the Sunnyside Branch Library at 5568 E. Kings Canyon Road AND a set of 3 advance reading copies of new books. eReader Grand Prize - One winner will be selected from all the entries to receive the Grand Prize of an eReader.

Only one weekly prize per person is allowed. Entries not selected as winners will be eligible for the next week’s drawing. All entries, including the weekly winners, will be entered into the drawing for the Grand Prize. You must be 18 or older and live within the Library’s service area to win a prize.

Pinterest is an online pinboard where people share theme-based collections of photos. Follow us on Pinterest to discover dreamy books, destinations and other topics. Email us your suggestions for pins on any of our Dreamy Summer Reading boards. Include the URL and the name of the Board.

Speed Dating @ the Library – Meet someone new. For ages 55 & up at Fig Garden Library, July 16 @ 7 PM. Pre-registration required.

Central Valley Astronomers Star Parties – Gaze at the stars with other astronomy lovers at a variety of Valley locations.

Woodward Shakespeare Festival Summer Events – The Merry Wives of Windsor, A Streetcar Named Desire & Henry V. All shows are free. Admission to Woodward Park is $5 per vehicle.
