Meeting dates for the Commission for the remainder of 2005 and for 2006.

Meeting Time & Location: Meetings are held at 4 p.m. in the Sarah McCardle Room in the Central Library, 2420 Mariposa Street, unless otherwise announced. Special meetings may be called by the Commission as needed.

Duties include:

  1. Historic properties/landmarks:  To advise the Board of Supervisors on property/landmark preservation and designation, see to the maintenance of the list of historic places in the County, advise the Board of Supervisors on properties that might be added to the local, State and National registers of historic places, and coordinate with other agencies and organizations in the community as necessary ot carry out the goal of historic preservation.
  2. Historic Records:  Advise the Board of Supervisors on the preservation of government records, including the retention and storage of these records; advise the County Library as necessary in their work for the preservation of all local historic records in the County, and coordinate with other agencies/organizations as necessary to foster and promote the preservation of all appropriate historic records.
  3. Centennial Farms:  Review farms in Fresno County that have been operational for 100 or more years, for inclusion in the list of Centennial Farms.
  4. Centennial Businesses:  Review businesses in Fresno County which have been in operation for 100 or more years, for inclusion in the list of Centennial Businesses.
  5. Makers and Sculptures in Historic Courthouse Park: Reveiw and advise the Board of Supervisors on the placement of marks and sculptures.
