- We are a complete depository for California State Documents. A complete depository receives one of everything distributed by the state printing office under the authority of the Library Distribution Act.
- We are a selective depository of Federal Documents. A selective depository selects Federal Documents to meet the government information needs of their district. Selective depositories do not receive all Federal Documents.
- Fresno County has been a depository for California and the U.S. government documents since 1920, the oldest depository library in the Central Valley.
- Libraries designated as depositories provide local, no-fee access to information from the Government in impartial environments.
- Depository collections are available for use by everyone. Collections include documents in print and electronic formats on a wide range of topics relevant to the general public and to professionals, researchers, and students in a variety of fields.
- We coordinate our document selection with the Henry Madden Library Government Documents Department. Because both libraries are located in the same city, some documents are selected for one library and not the other. If you are looking for a document that is not found in our library, it might be located in their library. The Henry Madden Library is located on the California State University, Fresno campus at 5200 North Barton Avenue. Their Service Desk telephone number is 559-278-2335.
